January 1st

As I try to be idle just this morning... (Happily so just this morning... For I'm doing lovely invites and a meeting later teehee!), I was trying to sum up our 2012.

Realistically, we had a good year, too blessed I must say again but of course we had our share of disappointments too. As I was contemplating to remember what I could remember per month without looking at our photo albums, I couldn't help but fast forward to the months where those meltdowns happened. Again, I'm just keeping it real, just but human that at times it is easier to remember misfortunes than those otherwise. I take those things as costly mistakes but then again, those are the best examples on how not to do it, and I seriously believe we came out better from those, if not our best crept out from the depths of us.

As I was doing that collage, we had too many that it just won't fit in it. I was tempted to look at our files but then I'd just go crazy choosing. I didn't want to end the year being cray cray I suppose. Teehee! And if I put our blessedness side by side to the two learning misfortunes we had, it would be so minute... It seriously doesn't matter anymore.

So let me stop being to sentimental and thank you folks for helping us be here, supporting us thru spreading the word, patronizing us and even simply as liking my posts. Thank you so much!

Up there... Thank YOU!

And yes folks... 2013 won't be perfect, but may we make it perfectly imperfect and take it in all it's loveliness. Much love and to a happier new year!

Airplane party:: Calix's 1st

I almost ended 2012 with a missed post. Been too excited perhaps to start our holidays. Teehee! Calix's 1st was right on Christmas Day. The downside was we were busy working, upside was the roads were clean. Traveling to Fort Ilocandia was a breeze.

We did a travel themed party for Calix. His cake had a colorful lighted skyline and cutesy airplanes.

Shoot me, this post is going to be short... May the pictures tell the story. Teehee!

Happy birthday Calix!

Year ender romance :: Al + Mayrose

Yesterday was our last events day for the year. So far 2012 has been a breeze, did crazy weddings, different themed ones. I chanced to see a dear family friend who attended the wedding. Going to the reception, her conversation with her daughters went like they were wondering what surprise we had in store. When I saw them, they were gushing how lovely it was and how lovely it was... Period.

They asked me on where do I keep our stuff, our bodega, and where on craziness do I get all these ideas. Alright so I let you in on a secret. We have 4 bodegas, which I really really have to consolidate in the coming days. Sadly the new bodega Ace is constructing seems too small already. And where do I get these ideas? From the invites, from the couple's personalities and from minute things around us. True it is that the net is oozing with lovely inspirations, but the thing is... If you hover too much in one persons site or so, you lose your identity. You won't be able to come up with a trademark of your own. So again, I'd rather not. I honestly want to build a trademark that separates us from others... That is unique and fresh. Isn't that supposed to be the challenge? Teehee!

For this wedding, I coaxed the staff to go all out as this is our last for the year. We did a last minute thing to install drapes, that was soooo crazy. But the outcome was sooo worth it. So that's it, it's a lovely wrap for our events calendar this 2012. It has been an amazing year, and we intend to do just that with 2013 again, with the heavens providence.

To Al and Mae Rose, congratulations and may you have lots and lots of happy New Years together.

Christmas reflection

My reflections this Christmas Day is that I am blessed, if there is such thing as too blessed, then I feel too blessed. That at times, I ponder what have I done to deserve so much.

Today, something unfortunate happened to someone close to us. It is with that, that I get to see again, that not all relationships work, and at times it is best to be alone in peace than continue suffering in that relationship. With that, I am thankful for Ace, that in spite of and despite of, we are in accord and still are very much in love...

So for this Christmas Day, I will set aside my material wishes... For those are possible through hard work. But dear heavens, I ask that do guide us in choosing our partners, that we may live in meaningful relationships, that we wake up happy with the person we love. For it is only through living in a clean slate and happy heart could we share ourselves to others.

And for those who are in happy relationships, do cherish it, and appreciate it... Because in this crazy times, we are but lucky... Blessed to be in such.

And so that, and good health for me and my family, that we may enjoy the happiness life has to offer. Merry merry merry merry blessed christmas folks!

Much love.

Shabby Chic:: Corinne + Ian

Halfway through our events calendar, I was a little worried that somehow I don't feel the stress that goes with it. Was I getting complacent? That I shudder! And as we get nearer finishing events this December, somehow the stress isn't still there. Then a friend reminds me why... it's because I love my job. True, if you enjoy what you're doing, love what it is... You don't have to work a single day of your life anymore. Well something like that.

The wedding that we did for Corinne and Ian was very light. Shabby chic for 40 guests. I know 40!

Well, hello folks! That would be me. Again, as we do have extra hands who work for us, we are very hands on doing your cakes and events. If by chance we can't come, we don't accept the project. I think, we translate our designs better personally than being relayed to someone else.

Our take in simple cakes. The peonies are pretty. Ace made those, didn't you all know by now. Teehee! I'm quite sensitive these days on where our cakes are perched. So when we do style the event, I go all out. Pretty cakes ought to be placed in pretty places too!

Lovely shabby chic pieces. 90% of what we used today, we got from Haweewee! It was fun and crazy scouring these pieces. I'm glad we were able to use them the soonest as it was my excuse to Ace when I was buying those. Please don't try to imagine what our stockroom looks like. Teehee! A lot of those would be an understatement. You see, couples are unique from another, their themes and requirements differ too. So I think, it is just but fair to give them a different look... and not just cut from the same cloth. Teehee!

The clock I got at the military swap meet. Can you believe I got it for just $3? It's a steal, I know!

Washi lovin from Hey Kessy. That would be L-O-V-E, love.

Corinne brought home the typewriter keys and ribbon. The typewriter was a gift to me from a family friend. So thankful that our endeavors are supported by love ones. Sigh!

Toni of Playa Tropical did the printed materials. Nice collab must I say. Thank you to Playa's gorgeous and oh so nice owner.

Photos were taken by the lovely redhead, Ferina Albano. She covered this event by the way. I couldn't wait for her takes on this event. She never fail to surprise me with her photos.

Thoughtful details, bow napkins... As requested by the pride, executed by Playa.

The doilies were DIY-Ed by the couple. And did you take notice of the doily place mat? So dainty. Sigh!

I guess that's a wrap. Two more and were done with the year. Next year is another story. Without much ado, Ian and Corinne... I loved working for you, thank you for being so gracious on the compliments to what we did. Much love! And maybe, we could bump into you one time in Orange. Congratulations!

Travel in black and red :: Elaine + Clifford

Elaine has been ridiculously calling me Ms.Kit all throughout my conversations with her, that is thru text or call. Ha!ha! I'm not quite sure what I feel about that. Well anyway, working for them is quite a breeze as again, like most of our clients, they let us do what we want and never constrain us.

Before we left for Haweewee, we've already ironed out plans on what to do. But, fickle me... Had to redo some things just yesterday. The framed maps were impromptu, the mini airplanes were just done yesterday, and at 7am yesterday I was calling E and asking her for clearance on certain adjustments. Like I said, they never constrain us. And their coordinator, Mara Manuel, was very supportive on what we wanted to do. Made us rock it the way we wanted it. Teehee!

I like how the frames went with the votives and the red plane. I love traveling but I cannot withstand sitting for hours in a plane
I find it such a waste of time. I long for the day when traveling to and fro the US would only take a few minutes. Sigh!

All lined up. Made quite sure that the color palette of red and black stands out.

Travel themed cake... Why, luggage of course! The second layer was laced to craziness by Ace.

Do you see my son's toy plane?

The ballrooms ceiling is such a beauty with the splendid chandeliers they have. We did partial carousel drapes with crystals to complement it.

Just before the wedding was to start, I chanced to do some chit chat with the brides mother. She throws me a compliment, saying Ace and I are truly a match... Our talents complement each other. So I told Ace this, how funny that he answers 'yeah beauty and brains!' Go figure! Teehee!

So I guess, it's a wrap. The next time we might bump unto each other E and Cliff could be at Waikele already huh? Congratulations, you deserve all the best. Uhmmm, see you in Haweewee?

Romantique

Why the French title? Because the presidential table centerpieces remind me of street lamps in France (which I only get to see in photos but seriously yearning to visit). Teehee!

For some reason, I've never met the bride or groom for this wedding. So far the responses I received from this has been positive. I do hope yesterday's couple share the same feeling too.

And if you folks must be wondering why my thoughts for these past few days have been so short... Can I say again that December is crazy? Sigh! It is... Now I have to get back assembling what we need for tomorrow's wedding.
