Angry birds::Asher Jacobe

Typhoon Dindo almost ruined our parade. We had to paint our stuff inside the house, oh no! Our house is all white and a small mistake in painting would be so costly. But still we had to do what we had to do just to be able to complete our props.

Cobe's cute invites.

His cakes and cupcakes.

The set-up. We hanged clouds, pigs in wood and we had balloon centerpieces anchored in TNT boxes. Boom! =) The stage is a scene of the angry birds game.

What a relief, we were able to finish everything on time!

Fairy birthday::Rain

It is always a challenge to come up with something new on a party theme that has been done for every little girl who celebrates her birthday. When Rain's mom, Ana, requested a fairy party... Uh oh! Gotta do something different or else it will come out like the usual fairy parties. Pink and purple is cute, no offense, but it has been used too much since time in memorial... So we did red and violet. =)

We did towering polka dotted balloons and huge butterfly foil centerpieces. I'm sure the kids got crazy, the parents crazier to get one of those. We tied them in logs with butterfly silhouettes I did myself =) yey! Clap! Clap! Tee hee!

As for the cake, since we didn't want to use fairy stand-ups, we opted for a fairy cake. Ace did brush embroidery on the fairy's gown. So dainty must I say. I styled the cake table with the logs we brought. I love the outcome. =) I love my butterflies. =)

Do you guys know the name of the tiny white flowers? Picked some from the venue's garden.

After we did the stage, I couldn't help but wish to have a girl of my own too. I seriously have a feeling she's going to have nice with a capital N, nice parties. We did exaggerated flowers and drop butterflies for Rain's stage. I didn't want to ruin the rawness so we opted for a wooden table instead of the linen covered one.

I think this is Rain's 4th birthday. I've lost count, she always has parties like it's her 1st. Lucky little girl. Oh and I saw her gown, soooo kikay. Mommy Ana, please post some photos.

Well, well, one more party for June and were done. July is another story.

Vintage+Photography::Felix Brylle

Tina, the kiddo's mom, is one of the prettiest and kulit-est clients we have. She wants low key yet nothing ordinary. She wants small yet grand. She'll tell me, 'it's up to you ate, i like anything you do!' Migod! Those are exactly the lines that drive me nuts and yet i love to hear...for believe me it is harder to think from nothing than to at least have a starting theme nor peg.

So we didn't want cartoons or so and since little Felix is a photographers son, doing this just came as the best theme for the tot.

With a one year old boy, you can still get away with a not-so-kiddie kiddie party. The invites I did was vintage-y. I loved how it came out. The fonts, the clip arts, the dots... Yay! The dots!

We had the party at the Balay da Blas Pensionne house. The place is sooo nice. It's like your in a different era, place... I can't exactly pinpoint. Different. Lovely! Of course, it's a place not everyone would want to hold a 1st birthday party at but the mom is very discerning. Is the BDB supposed to be a secret? Yay! Shoot! Oh well, a place as lovely a this is meant to be shared. =)

I filled our glass vases with cutesy photos and quotes. See the rosettes? I think it fits perfectly. Not too girly this time.

I enjoyed styling this party. I was actually inspired doing this and in return I got an inspiration from this that I'll use on our next wedding. I'm soooo excited. =)

Yay! His cake. Happy birthday little one!

Woodsy wedding::Noveh & Louie

This by far is the heaviest wedding we've ever done. Literally. We had super heavy solid logs to use as accents. Well how else can you pull a woodsy wedding without logs? Sigh! I had to pull out some of Ace's workers to help us in the ingress. 20 pcs of log stands for the church, 50 pcs of varying heights and thickness and 18 bundles of twigs for the reception. Plus throw in our other stuff.

While it's true that accent lighting completes the look, I like to do our tablescapes in a way that it is pretty by itself with or without lighting.

With the candles lit, it gets even lovelier. The photos don't do justice. Oh did I say,I did a one man show on the tablescapes? I was left alone with just a helper who'd hand me the materials I need. Seriously, with my colds and cough, I thought I was gonna faint.

Again, I love clean and coherent styling. It is always very tempting to bring out every beautiful piece in our bodega to a wedding, but you just can't. There is always a perfect time, a wedding where it shall shine too. This time, I brought out our bone china candle holders. I was supposed to use it at home, but it was so nice to contrast it with the logs. I lost some though, collateral damage. Guests go crazy with pretty stuff, they feel like everything is a giveaway. Double sigh!

We did a carrot cake in white fondant with twig accents and a paired bird topper. It was just so apt with the theme. Not too much, not too bland. Just right. =)

Noveh and Louie was thanking us for a job well done, but you see... It is always us who should do the thanking. For we get to channel our creativities and we get the chance to make people smile with what we do. I super love it when people start taking photos of everything. For this wedding I saw folks get up from their tables and take photos of themselves at the cake, at the couple's area, at the different angles of the presidential table. =)
This is one rule in our design process now, to encourage people to stand up, move around, mingle and enjoy the whole shebang.

Alrighty, congratulations Noveh and Louie! See you in California? =)

Retro safari:: Julian

Tired is quite an understatement to define our weekend. We had a baptism,a birthday, a wedding and a number of cakes, one is 5 feet tall which I failed to take a photo of, a debutante cake which again I failed to take a photo of, and pretty cupcakes which again I failed to take a photo of. Shoot me! My brain was just not seriously working. I had a bad bout of chills, cough and colds. Sigh!

The baptismal party was for Julian.

We made a lovely jungle at the University Training Center of MMSU Batac. We had vines dropping from the ceiling. And a cutesy monkey in one of those =) Safari animals were done in retro-ish colors. I had a backdrop Missoni inspired. Yay!

The cake and cupcakes are so cute. I didn't take the photos, Ace did... No wonder we had photos of this cake. Ha! Ha! I wasn't able to wrap this party myself... I was only able to do the stage the day before. The centerpieces which had safari... Oh zebra striped balloons were tied in logs, the balloon strands and some finishing touches were done by the staff and Ace. How cute are the logs with Julian's name spelled out. Nice one Dad!

I wonder what would be Julian's 1st birthday theme. I hope they'll get us again.

Modern Filipiniana::Claire & Billy

It's been long since we've done something locally inspired. Been excited to do this for months. The couple are our clients since time in memorial... We did their nieces and other relatives cakes and parties. We just had to make good again (tee hee!) this time.

Her bridal bouquet was a mix of something from the neighborhood and somewhere out there...

The lowly salakot isn't as lowly anymore.

I raided the family home and used our wooden baul's as tables.

This tablescape was so challenging. We didn't have a plan on what to do... Impromptu. Yay! I used native hats as vases for the cascading orchids then propped it on lovely glass vases.

We got crazy with the cake... The bride gave us swatches of her gowns lacework, so we infused that... Ace wanted to impress... So he added a light feature on the cake... Believe me, it was so hard doing this cake... It was almost suicidal. This was a collaborative effort of everyone in the house... It was so tall,heavy and delicate. Very!

Again, congratulations Manang Claire and Manong Billy!
