Doljanchi Party :: Mary Caitlin's 1st

My ignorance to other world cultures made me procrastinate in doing plans for this party. But when Caitlin's mom, took matters by visiting me at home to make arrangements, we were pushed to start conceptualizing for this party. Doljanchi, how very foreign.

And like any other Doljanchi party, the Dol table cannot be missed. It is actually the center of everything. A mix of flowers, sweets and fruits. On the day of the party, we went to the party venue earlier than usual so we finish, of course, earlier than usual, and be able to attend my little swimmer's swimming graduation. As we were setting up, someone arrives and hands us a tarpaulin to put up. Uh oh! Definitely this was not her party, and definitely she was not our client. So we learned, there was still a lunch thing before our dinner party. Nightmare! Again, I say, I am very thankful for a work staff so oiled that my stress level just escalated minimally. You can imagine the scenario from this scene forth already.

And like I always say, mini mishaps don't deter us from doing loveliness.

A message from Mary Caitlin's mom goes "Thank you for making my dol table. It was a success all my visitors are praising the way u set up the centerpiece, dol table and everything on it. We love it sooooo much. Kahit mga taga Manila napahanga mo. " So I guess, we did well yesterday. Sigh!

Rustic Vintage:: Sharon + Davide

It is always a challenge to come up with something new for a theme which has been done too many times already. This is actually a second design which we decided two or three days before the big day. Why do we do that? Because the mister is so allergic to mediocrity, that if there is doubt on the design we are set to do, it means it doesn't really pass. Sigh! I am glad though that we did because we learned when we had our first meeting with the couple Sharon and Davide, that Davide is an Italian Interior Designer. My gahd!

Nothings more vintage-y than lace wrapped jars with lovely lovely blooms.

This hanging plant box, we did a day before the wedding. It would have been so much nicer if home stores were close to us... or my favorite stores in the US. Sigh! Again, you don't get everything you need in Divisoria, and definitely some stuff are to be DIY-ed by us... nothing made in China. Teehee!

 Ace's lacework is just so lovely that you'll have to shoot me for blowing our own toot... very neat and impeccable. I did the flower for this one.

 One of two centerpieces we did for this wedding. Mix of lovely blooms in hues of pink, violet and green.

And I was asked while working, where do we get these inspirations... I honestly don't know anymore. Its just that the heavens has blessed us with this gift that definitely has to be shared. And I am very very thankful for an amazing support group, our staff who somehow have somewhat aligned their work habits with us already. Sigh!

So that's it... another wedding for the books.

Congratulations Sharon and Davide.

UP! :: Julio's 1st Birthday

Couldn't contain my excitement on doing this party for days. When Julio's lovely mom, Paola, asked if our  22nd is open, and thank heavens it was, plans for this lovely party started. I was sharing her excitement for her little one's first birthday from that day on. Teehee! More so, the pressure was again on when she told me the other suppliers she got. Yay!

 So UP themed party it is. First thing I was excited about was the centerpieces. We knew right then that we wanted flying houses with lots and lots of balloons. We had 40-50 pcs of flying balloons to fly the 3D houses! Yay!
Julio's stage was filled with loveliness like that of Ellie and Carl's home. Ellie's painting right there. See the ukulele too? Sigh!

Make Your Own Havaianas Press Launch

Our 2nd party  for yesterday, coming from Manila, then stopping for the Vintage Little Man party in Cabugao. And as fate would have it, this party was not easy to do. Groggy, sleepy, tired and all, just had a quick shower when we reached home then headed up to Java Hotel to do this party. Time check? 2 PM  What does the invite say? 4 PM give or take another hour... 5 PM tops. Three hours to come up with this loveliness. I arrived at a  too bare poolside with drapes which certainly won't match the look we wanted. Okay, no worries with that. I asked why we're there no tables, and apparently a little mis-communication that we were supposed to supply it. So I told them, we don't have tables and the hotel needs to provide it. Only again to find out that there are 3 more functions that day and all tables are being used. Nightmare in the afternoon, really. Gladly Sir Louie of Java was able to source three long tables which we made do and prettified. Time check? A few minutes before three.

Lovely tropical flowers at the poolside

Decorative pineapples, yay!

 Don't you just love the vibrancy of colors in these table? And the huge leaves we used as place mats?

Havaianas tree
 Lest I forget, this party was for the Mini Make your own Havaianas Press Launch... where the local press and some of Ilocos Norte's chi chi folks attended. Yes, we shall have our version of Make Your Own Havaianas already folks with limited edition Ilocos pins and that is at Robinsons Ilocos Norte on May 24-26 ONLY! You have to mark your calendars for that. Yay!
Goodies for the press

For me!
 That's my name right there, apparently I was not only a stylist for this event but was invited as Press as well.
 And I not only receive a lovely summer tote, but a huge flipfloat and THAT loveliness right there. Teehee!

All lined up
 And the ghosts were an impromptu addition for this party. I couldn't take using mono block chairs for this. The ghosts definitely have to be used. And 30 minutes before call time, I decided on this. My goodness!

Me in action
 After all the craziness, when the guests were raving about the ambiance, couldn't help but be giddy and proud that somehow we did well. More so, when Visionaire's big boss was happy with what we did, the details and all. Sigh! I definitely love love my job!
