Sweet candies:: Rein's 1st

I can't find the words to describe this party. I'm not a lover of sweets but with this... What's there not to love? You see, I get too attached with the parties that we do because most if not all elements in it are our labor of love. Ace and I along with the Ava's family work together to come up with these loveliness. And I am sooo thankful that somehow the folks who work for us share the same passion that we have. Day by day, party after party, cake after cake, they are learning to shun mediocrity.

So this is our party for the day, our month ender...overloaded with cuteness.

Isn't it cute? I hope the folks who attended this party thought so too.

Well, that's it! Happy birthday Lianne Rein, to a sweet life.

Classic Red :: Daisy + John

If this is going to be the trend for our next projects then I don't mind. We did Daisy's sister Noveh's wedding last year {Woodsy:: Noveh + Louie}. This time we're doing a classic red themed wedding for Daisy and John.

I'm going to be redundant but I'll say it again, I love how the couple's know what they want but let you do your thing. And they don't mind if I tweak the design a little on the big day. There are stuff that even if it is not stated in the contract, I do add on the day itself... At no extra charges. Yay!

I love how romantic this table looks. Just the freshest of blooms and lovely candle holders.

Simple, clean, elegant.

We did submerge red tulips in my cylindrical vases. Very very classy.

I am pleased with the outcome of our year starter wedding. More so when the groom approached us and said... It was worth it and we are so sulit. I told him, ' Yes we are, that's what I told you from the start manong . Teehee!

The only regret I have for this wedding was that I wasn't able to picture the ceremony set up we did. We made them an aisle with hanging chandeliers with red, blood red carnations tied with lovely ribbons and the altar was a lovely arch of cascading white flowers. We used our ghost chairs even. I hope someone sends me a photo of the ceremony.

Again, congratulations John and Daisy.

Construction party:: Trever Yvo's 1st

If you knew Trever's parents, you need not guess why they hosted a construction party for their little one. The materials we needed for the party was right smack in their home. When we went to work, we only brought our hydrogen tank, balloons and a few props. We were very light. Teehee!

The joke for the day was... Trever's parents was so gallant that they even built a house, held back unfinished to be used as props for this party. Ha! Ha! My major booboo was that I wasn't able to take a photo of their under construction home. It was lovely, those kinds of houses are just spot on... Suits my taste.

We were in character working on this party. Carpentry skills? Check! Plumbing skills? Check! Painting skills? Check! Hard hats? Check! Check! Check!

Where did we set the cake? On a pile of hollow blocks.

The candy bar too was set on hollow blocks.

Not even the sign could keep kids away from the candy bar.

Dump trucks loaded with juice bottles.

Even La Preciosa got pumped up with going with the theme! Teehee!

I just love this family. Trever's parents are my go to whenever I need something construction related. And in all honesty, aside from Ace's designs, Ely's is one of the architects whose designs I admire too.

So little one, to more birthdays and much love. Soon you shall be playing with your dad's real trucks. Happy birthday Trever!

Home office

I think the main reason why it wasn't that hard to convince Ace to convert our home bodega to our home office is that he is soooo fed up with me, waking him up at night when inspiration strikes and let him work on something within the confines of our room... Where we have a small space, we could call a room office. Ha!ha!

I'm quite pleased on the swiftness we had to undertake this project. A day to move our stuff to my in laws place, for the meantime. Two hours to repaint it from bridal white to a very light shade of gray. Yes, things don't change... I still lean on neutrals. My curtains were my non negotiable for this project. I knew from the start I needed silver ARQ mesh curtains. I just had to. Period.

I didn't want to build cabinets and so... It just takes so much time and stress when carpenters wouldn't be able to translate your vision into reality. And besides, I wanted the office to be a little industrial, yet homey. We used baking shelves/racks for my book shelf, and office table. And what better way to maintain the industrial vibe than to hang them with industrial cables. It really pays when Ace and I were raised with not so much that we know how to make do with what we have.

It wasn't also that hard to finish the space as I have rooms filled with lovely loots I use for weddings and events. And since it will be for long since I'm going to use these stuff... And we'll the possibility of not using it anymore, I might as well. A vintage looking clock to tell time, and a book end from our travels for my precious design books.

The biggest dose of color I allowed myself to have is the Narra writing desk we got from a junkyard. It was meant to hold my colorful art and craft materials. Do you see the carousel on top of it? It's a gift from my mother in law. Whenever I turn on my music, I get to see its prettiness. How intricate it was done. With so much color and the details are just divine. An inspiration for a cake perhaps. Well I feel so loved that she did partake such pretty piece to me. I remember, she wanted to give me jewelry... but I said no. Ill just lost them. So this might be the next best thing... Precious... Closest to her heart. Sigh! I'm blessed.

The mirror came with the writing desk too. And if I remember correctly, the desk and the mirror did just cost for a weeks marketing. I know, what a steal.

The Paris poster to remind me to save up and pray hard that one day, we shall be able to frolic in the city of lights. My tin beer bucket to hide my clutter. Teehee! And of course, photos of us with the little one. Oh and a cute cake server, which I used to hold some of my pretty ribbons.

Our DIY lights. Naked ping pong bulbs, I love. And yeah, my oink timer and egg beater found a home in my home office too.

Now that the office is like 95% done, I was thinking of spending more time in here than in the shop. How ironic, it's as if I spend so much time in the shop. Ha! Ha! So from 20%in the shop, it might just be 5% already. Possibly. Well for discerning ones, I could open our home office for design consultations in here. Yay! And I might be serving tea and cakes for merienda. Isn't that divine?

Would you want to set for an appointment?

Superhero party :: Franco's 2nd

To top the benefits of being in this biz is you get to have more friends through time, that is if you please them... Otherwise, you gain just the opposite. And if you get past thru the client-supplier relationship, it is just swell that they open up to you, consult you on design stuff and all. Plus the fact that they spread a good word about our cakes and parties. And they not only show the love to us, but also to our little one.

Just before doing this party, I had a meeting. And I couldn't still master how to respond on praises like... You are highly recommended, they rave about your cakes and parties, glad that you are Ilocos-based .All I could muster would be a sheepish, thank you. Aya yay!

So yeah, we've been doing cakes and parties for Franco's family for the longest time already. I remember, the first cake they got was a topsy-turvy for his Kuya Luis. A nice bag cake for her mom January, oh my... Yearly cakes and parties for the family I suppose.

This time, we did a superhero party and cake for Franco as requested by her mom. I enjoyed doing the cake. It's very simple yet lovely. I chanced to see a newspaper like page in Ava's comic book... I did ask him if I could have it, he said yes... Now it's part of the cake table. Teehee!

Ace and I along with the staff DIY-ed his name covered in comic pages. We DIY-Ed everything actually, except for the chevron backdrop. Yes, even the table. Teehee!

So that's it. Off for a little R&R with the little one and the family. And we're getting ready for our year starter wedding. Yay!

Happy 2nd Franco love!

Nautical :: Xander's 1st

This is Xander's 1st and ours as well. Our first time to do a nautical party. Though its been done a lot of times, I think the team was able to pull off another version of a nautical party. I particularly like the chevron backdrop we used today. I didn't want waves so chevron is it.

We made a cutesy red, blue and white cake and cupcakes for the little one. Ms. Julse of Printnook did their cutesy invites.

Whenever we work on parties, we try not to do a repeat of our past parties, more so it be a replica or quite too similar to someone else's. Ace and I really sit down and make sure the pieces we combine in a party is coherent. So I'm quite pleased when folks come up to me and tell me about a party they've been to and they know instantly that we did it. How swell!

So today's party is done... Have to finish some cakes, then off to another party I am looking forward to... that I hope you do too.

Happy birthday Xander!
