Bright and lovely:: Ruben + Grace

I started my morning yesterday, very lovely... A handful of heartwarming, cartwheel inducing emails and this lovely wedding for Ruben and Grace. It is always a breeze working at Arabella's Events Place, to work with Audrey Adora of Red Gala Weddings and Events and Ferina Albano, who we will definitely miss (leaving for a cooler climate soon). I must be very selfish for not wanting her to leave. I honestly think, she is one of the heaven's creatures who can take the loveliest photographs here on earth. If that makes me a fan of her, guilty as charged!

This must be our 5th project with Red Gala, and so far they have been consistent with the professionalism one seeks from an event planner and coordinator. On the dot, no nonsense, and definitely goes the extra mile with no excuses and without bothering the couple. I truly admire Audrey Adora for being that.
Didn't we all wish life was as beautiful as those flowers, always? Quite grateful for the opportunity to be working with clients who love loveliness as much as I do. It is always more of my dream coming true at times with these endless crazy lovely projects they let us do. Love the crate and pail, sets off the flowers perfectly. Thank heavens for family trips!

That impromptu happy problem Ferina Albano dropped on our laps. The night before the wedding, a series of messages asking for an area for their prenup photos. I shudder!

See those lovely berries? I was worried that the kids might be too curious and pop a few in their mouths. That was totally unnecessary! Supplier told me they were edible.

And while we were doing those lush lovelinesses, I received a message from someone telling me about how our designs are being copied. In a way, I was quite delighted with her line that goes "looked similar albeit a poor copy of what I've seen you do". As I always say, I really can't do so much when folks don't use their brain matter if there is any. Boohoo! What we can promise, time and again, is that we shall try, all the time, to endeavor to tailor fit every party we do. I admire the lovely works of Preston Bailey, David Leatham, Jo Claravall, Pat Pastelero and the list goes on... But don't we all wish we could find our own niche to be known for rather have other people notice otherwise. Sigh! I wish we were more of that and super try to not be silly cats.

So that's it, loveliness achieved. Congratulations Ruben and Grace!

Black and White:: Je + Chrissa

What better way to start May's loveliness than a wedding in the colors I love? Sigh! It wasn't that hard to work on this, it felt like home. Our house is mostly black and white, it's not even mostly... It's in black and white!

At times I question myself with the designs that we do, is it too simple, should we do it more pompous? To which the mister and I would then agree, that if we do it otherwise, it might not please us anymore. If it pleases us, as if we were the ones being married, then I cross my fingers that the couple, along with the guests would be pleased and impressed as well. I would want to think that what we do are extensions of ourselves as we try to bring to life dream events of our couples. Time and again, I say, we love simple, detailed, coherent styling. And if we do mix and match, there's a certain level to which it could work, like fashion, of course.

That gorgeous loveliness was done at Sitio Remdios' courtyard, to which guests of the resort, the owners relatives, took turns stopping by and watch the mister do the lacework. I'm sure it was music to the mister's ears.

Beautiful inside out:: Joni + Resty

Time and again, I always remind our brides to be cool and be open to possibilities that even the most meticulously planned plans may go awry, and be happy with the fact that when the big day comes those that go nuts are nothing, that it won't take away the joy you must have by marrying the one that you love. And I think the reason why this wedding came out so lovely (and I'm still hearing raves about it) is because Dr. Joni and Arch. Resty are beautiful people inside out. All our meetings with them were light and nice. We never felt we were brought to a task yet we were, knowing we were once again working for someone in the design field.

The pressure to come up with a concept for them, fit for their simplicity, yet oozing with their innate class, has been a challenge to us. But if I may, now that it's done, I want to do cartwheels. I love love love how the chevron parquet came out. And I love love love how the mister added those candles on it. Don't you? Loveliness!

I'd like to believe that the heavens gives us projects I love working at... And of course people, who believe in what we can do and push us to do loveliness after another.

Congratulations to the beautiful Dr. Joni and Arch Resty!

Winter in Summer :: Glaiza + Ian

It's been quite awhile working at Playa Tropical, but the warmth of the people who work there is still as usual. We did this almost wintery, ice white wedding for Glaiza and Ian. I honestly wished it was able to cool off the summer heat. This summer has been too hot, but then I don't yearn for the rains either. We still have a lot more of garden lovelinesses to do.

As we were working on this wedding, our staff remembers how one time someone offers him more so he can work for them, to which he declines. I truly appreciate the loyalty, and somehow people who aren't family, yet when you treat them as such, will for the longest time be an ally, family. For that I am grateful beyond words for having them in our boat. And I can only give an advice to those who will try again to do so, that try not to lure someone through money, because when another player comes, and would offer more... You'll be left with nothing once again.

Special thanks to Toni Carag of Playa for letting us use their drapes.
