Why the French title? Because the presidential table centerpieces remind me of street lamps in France (which I only get to see in photos but seriously yearning to visit). Teehee!

For some reason, I've never met the bride or groom for this wedding. So far the responses I received from this has been positive. I do hope yesterday's couple share the same feeling too.
























And if you folks must be wondering why my thoughts for these past few days have been so short... Can I say again that December is crazy? Sigh! It is... Now I have to get back assembling what we need for tomorrow's wedding.

Mickey lovin' this December:: Ivan's birthday

The challenge whenever we are tasked to do a character themed party is that we have to come up with something that isn't yet done (which is very hard to do). For Ivan's party however, I'm a little bit thankful that it fell on this month. It's actually a cross between Mickey Mouse and Christmas.


The sorcerer mickey was a find I got at Hawaii's swap meet. Teehee! I told you, all the parties we have this December have traces of Alohaland on it.





The black Christmas wreath was a score from National bookstore. It was a garland which I halved and converted into two lovely wreaths. The ribbon was from Costco.


The framed Mickey icons... I love. Ace and I DIY-ed it on the spot. The frames, I had it done at my good friend Joy's frameshop, Arwen's. the patterned paper for Mickey mouse's head was from Ben and Franklins.


The Mickey topiary heads was a spur of the moment thing. I needed plants for the planters, teehee. Again, I used my edger puncher to make Mickey's ears.


Yay! I hope the little one's happy with what we did. 1st Kiddie party for the month done... Ready for the next? We sure are!

Up up away::Nathan Gabriel's baptism

What a party to start a sunshiny day! Nathan's mom made us pick the theme... With her lines, I trust you. Heavens, talk about being totally pressured to do something nice.


So we did a spin off of the UP movie... Sort of...








Very sunshiny! Yellows and blues. We even hanged balloon clouds and dropped a few hot air balloon lanterns.


Don't let that hot air balloon deceive you. It is made of steel and cloth... Not bamboo and paper. That is my Ace's DIY. I think he did a pretty good job. Hugs dad! My market basket was used as the balloons basket... And I threw in some pretty cute bears in it.





Nathan's mom made us do cupcakes topped with what else... for his favors.

A few hours after the party, Nathan's mom called to thank us for doing a nice job. The outcome was a surprise. Believe me, nothing warms my heart more than an appreciation from a happy client.

So alright... Nathan's baptismal done... 2nd party for the day coming up.

Yesterday's affair

I spent my day yesterday in cloud 9! The response for the booth was overwhelming. Again... I say that. Well I did not only man the booth but Ace and I were bazaaristas too.


Janina had her Leila's cupcakes. We just couldn't resist buying their all flavor sampler box. If you need sweet treats for everyday cravings... Get theirs...if you need artsy treats for parties or so... Get ours. =) tee hee!


The reason of all this hullabaloo... The inabel. Red dot came up with nice pieces out of inabel. Everything's cute, very apt for pasalubongs to relatives and friends abroad. I got several for Ace's aunts and cousins.


We had a mix of guests dropping by at the booth yesterday. My Ava and Markus made our booth a lounge to play apps. Yay! The cakes were irresistible. Most took photos of the lovelies. Most were curious how they were made... How many days did it took us... How expensive are they... You see they're not actually that expensive if you compare it to cakes at par with it.




The highlight of yesterdays bazaar was the bag signing of the Imee bag by the governor herself. =) It was sold like pancakes... Before we blinked it was all sold out. Yay! Oh well, the proceeds went to a good cause... For the inabel industry. This was again the brainchild of savvy entrepreneur, ILEA's ever chic president Mary Ann Macaraeg. =)


Ok... So I hope it gets busier today than yesterday... =)I'll update you folks, I will!




Oh and before I forget, thank you for the support. Ace and I are all smiles.

Vintage Circus::Ellice+JR+Zerene

Three little tots in one great party! You see Ellice is one of our loyal patrons in Ava's Cakes. We did her Piglet baptism, Belle 1st birthday, Strawberry Shortcake 2nd, Ariel 3rd, Luau 4th, Jetsetter 5th. And this would be her 6th. This time though, she is sharing the spotlight with her little brother JR's baptism and cousin Zerene's baptism too.

I truly appreciate the trust they give us whenever they do parties. Since Ellice's Mom, Eunice couldn't make it, it was her Tita Doc Majessa and Dad Rulex who were in contact with us. Usually we meet with clients, just thrice. 1st... Meeting of the minds, 2nd to pick up invites, 3rd would be the party itself. So we make sure, they're pretty happy with the results.


We built a tent backdrop with stripes and polka dot patterns. The color peg this time was just red and blues. Not too many colors. =)





We got the trunk from the family home. I've been seeing that since I was little and to think that it freaks me out every time... It was put to good use on this event.


The stuffed animals were from a friend. One man's trash is another man's treasure. =)

We did three cakes, one for a tot. A seal topped cake for Zerene, roaring lion for JR and a cutie elephant for Ellice.






Bowling pins for the juggler. I'm glad we were able to find red and blue pins for if not, I'll have to bother Ace and the staff to color what's available with blue and red. Ha! Ha! I tell you, styling is like you're in a treasure hunt.






Different frames with vintage circus photos adorned the wall.


That's it... one of our lovely parties yesterday.

Vintage Garden::Kath + Sander

This is our first time to do a wedding in Tabacalera- the brainchild events place of our Governor. It's huge, very daunting and very challenging. You know I always say I prefer working with bare spaces, but Tabacalera must I say is... Ahhh how do I say it? Lost for words. Alright, just very challenging. Add to the fact that we're doing a vintage garden theme in an indoor venue. Yay!



Our interpretation of the theme. I asked Ace for a wood wall with nooks where I can put something in it. Oh and I had to pester the carpenters to make a wheelbarrow and ladder too. This are the times when I seriously yearn for the swap meets in Hawaii. Sigh! And even Floradec. Double sigh! And also Michaels. I remember, my first dose of a craft store is Hobby Lobby in Texas. My Lola Doc is a crafty too like me, she bought me there. Is it still around?



The kid got to play with it before the wedding. =)


There's beauty in simplicity.


I filled the wheelbarrow with fresh hydrangeas, alstromerias, roses and carnations. I love how the wood wall turned out. The monograms were also done in wood. =)






Lookie! My water sprinkler I got for P50. =) I told you Ace, I'll be using it one day.

The tableau was filled with lovely fresh roses, gerberas, alstromerias, hydrangeas, orchids and my current fave... Snapdragons! Oh and succulents here and there. You might be wondering where do I get our props? Here, there and everywhere. A mix of cheap finds and I shudder ones. One day, I'll do a garage sale of our props. We try not to reuse them in events.

I took two sets of photos. The ones above are taken in natural light, the ones coming up are taken with the mood lights. I didn't know how to use Ace's cam so shoot me if they're not at it's best. I told a friend yesterday, I wish I had a photographer close friend who would take nice photos of our events.
