Lalaloopsy Loveliness on a typhoon day:: Drienne's 1st

While most of you were cuddling in bed or eating hot ramen or congee, the mister and I, along with our staff braved the strong winds and incessant rain which made our path from Laoag City to Batac City almost suicidal.

Soon as we got to the Kalipi Training Center, we started to do some loveliness for little Drienne. And as luck would have it, there was a power outage! Darn! Of all days. Sigh! But then again, one must do what one is set to do. So with or without electricity... We continued the loveliness.

Don't you think the Lalaloopsy cake is so adorable? The cupcakes that match it are cute as well. We used my writing desk as the cake and cupcake table which I styled with some colored crochet yarns and huge spools.

Sew magically lovely! Body formers we once owned but found home in a dressmaker hobbyist was used to hold patterned ribbons and my neon buttons. When I was purchasing those years ago, my MIL had raised eyebrows. Very long story, it will merit another post. Teehee!

Meter-stick crates! Clever huh!

Oh and after we did this party, someone asked me how do I know where to put things or angle them something like that? I paused, I didn't answer. The talkative me was taken aback. I just let out a smile I think. Yet now I realized there is no book or school that will tell you exactly how to put things, where to put them, rather, styling is an extension of one's self. The way we do things is very parallel to our lifestyle, and those who know us very well would recognize that very quick.

There! That's how we spent our Typhoon Odette day... With loveliness and a hot bowl of miki afterwards.

Happy birthday Drienne!
