Bee party:: Gianne Lhexi's 1st

What a party to end our month! Bee themed party seriously buzzing with lots of pretty details. Gianne's parents wanted something black... I love fuchsia and black but I think I've reached the threshold already. Since we all wanted something cheerful, we went for yellow... what is yellow and black? Bees!

We had the wall patterned in honeycomb. Very very cute. See the cabinet? It was rushed a day before the party. I love the fact that our house, houses power tools! Way to go Ace! Come to think of it...most if not all of the props you see in our parties are our DIY's.

I had a bohemian wedding hangover. Ha! ha! Did you miss that post? See it here.

Bright sunny yellow gerberas.
Very country-ish. I'm glad I saved my martinelli bottles. I knew I'd put it to good use one day.

Eenie Meenie little plates formed to the number 1. This is her first birthday, by the way.

Her cake was a beehive. With bees swarming over it.

This candy bar has to be the most dramatic we've done. Having the ribbon wall we used in the ILEA bazaar which you can see here.
Since we weren't doing drops, we opted for oh so tall centerpieces tied in glass jars ribboned in black and yellow. And beside it is a nice green jar with grass.
Nectar like juices! Cute! Yes... birthdays are sweet!

Alright! August was filled with lovely events and cakes... I dread the calendar we have for September... I think it is seriously crazier. But heck... bring it on!

Again, happy birthday little one!

Bruised but healing

How timely is the issuance of our tickets to go on this trip! It's been in the calendar months ago as Ava's semestral break is the only chance we could go on vacation, for several reasons. First, it falls on Halloween... Not many cakes nor parties, the ones we lose are affordable. Second, my in laws birthdays fall on these dates. Third, I get to see inspirations before the onset of Christmas. Fourth, veterans day memorial sale! I would have wanted the black Friday sale but that would be too long for a vacation for us already.

Timely I'd say for I thought it would nurse some bruised emotions I have. I know we are in a cutthroat industry but I didn't literally take it as cutting each others throats. Shit happens! Pardon the pun! I console myself with the following motivational quotes...

First, you can never put a good man down. Second, what goes around comes around. Third, you can not start something good from something bad without fixing the bad. I'm naive. We are people and not crabs. At least that's what I believe where we belong. I've actually appreciated the feeling of anger and hatred for it gives me more reason to do nicer projects or so. That is something that makes Ace go nuts. My desire to be better when angry is something. It truly is something. That's my way of turning the negative into positive.

One things for sure, I don't intend to besmirch our reputations with little foul plays or so... I believe in our portfolios... In our abilities to do nice things. Not words would sell us, but shoot me for saying this but... Our uncanny ability to make things pretty. =) Heaven sent!

What you do is what matters, not what you think, or say, or plan-J.Fried

Cleaning up

Now that the bulk of this month is over... With just one event left and a few cakes... The weather is sooo inviting to be cooped up within the confines of our room. Browsing through our folders, I chance to see designs that didn't make it to reality.

Well you see, we don't get every event we set our sights into... But it is something we don't dwell on for long...there are two reasons I could think of when we don't get accounts...first, our designs don't fit what the client visualizes, second, figures we quote might not fit into their budgets.

To console myself on these little setbacks is that the belief that like relationships, we may not be compatible with the client and everything is damn providential. That is we're set to have a better account, or something crazy is just going to happen. Period!

So like the weather, which is all gloomy today... We all need to fan a few clouds to have a brighter day... Likewise... I need to remove some sketches in our folder to make room for better ones. All is definitely well. =)

Yesterday's affair

I spent my day yesterday in cloud 9! The response for the booth was overwhelming. Again... I say that. Well I did not only man the booth but Ace and I were bazaaristas too.

Janina had her Leila's cupcakes. We just couldn't resist buying their all flavor sampler box. If you need sweet treats for everyday cravings... Get theirs...if you need artsy treats for parties or so... Get ours. =) tee hee!

The reason of all this hullabaloo... The inabel. Red dot came up with nice pieces out of inabel. Everything's cute, very apt for pasalubongs to relatives and friends abroad. I got several for Ace's aunts and cousins.

We had a mix of guests dropping by at the booth yesterday. My Ava and Markus made our booth a lounge to play apps. Yay! The cakes were irresistible. Most took photos of the lovelies. Most were curious how they were made... How many days did it took us... How expensive are they... You see they're not actually that expensive if you compare it to cakes at par with it.

The highlight of yesterdays bazaar was the bag signing of the Imee bag by the governor herself. =) It was sold like pancakes... Before we blinked it was all sold out. Yay! Oh well, the proceeds went to a good cause... For the inabel industry. This was again the brainchild of savvy entrepreneur, ILEA's ever chic president Mary Ann Macaraeg. =)

Ok... So I hope it gets busier today than yesterday... =)I'll update you folks, I will!

Oh and before I forget, thank you for the support. Ace and I are all smiles.

1st ILEA Bazaar Booth

This is a day of firsts... For the Ilocano Lifestyle Entrepreneurs Association to hold their first bazaar and US... To join our first bazaar showcasing our cakes and styling drama.

I told Ace that since we only had two days two come up with something nice... It has to be a no-brainer... Go black and white! Besides my color spectrum is limited to just those. It's not even a color I suppose.

Lovely tassel to accent our ghosts. =) We rent the ghost chairs just incase you need them. {Kit 09175928955}

The Phaelenopsis is sooooo pretty! I was worried it won't survive it's trip. It is just so delicate. Ace had to fetch it in the wee hours. I had to argue with Ace on this. We need the P to put the ! in our set up. Don't you think so?

The lanterns... I had to bother my good friend Z to fetch them for me. Thank you!

I didn't want to use tables for the cakes... The ghosts it is! These are the only ghosts I'm not afraid of. Tee hee!

My personal picks! I just love the cakes we did. In blacks and whites. Except for the painted one. I wanted something flamenco-ish so we had one done in red, fuchsia, and orange.

Sitting pretty indeed!

I'm pleased with the response we've gotten from those who have seen our booth. I guess... we'll be joining more of this in the days to come. =) Thanks for inviting us ILEA.
